Buganda mourns Kabaka’s wife after Daily Secrets story

KAMPALA: Buganda Kingdom has finally spoken out about the passing of Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi’s Rwanda-based wife, Venetia Sebudandi.

Daily Secrets broke the story of the death of Sebudandi, the mother of Prince Jjunju “Kiweewa” Suuna, who was pronounced dead by family members.

“The family of Mr Andrew Sebudandi wishes to inform family and friends that our beloved mother, sister and aunty, Amb. Venetia Sebudandi, passed away on November 13,” the family said in a statement.

Now a statement from the office of Buganda Premier says the kingdom will be involved in the burial of Sebudandi.

Buganda hailed the deceased as a kind and supportive lady who has kept the kingdom at her heart.

Sebudandi served in various capacities as an official of the Rwandan government, including, Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office in Geneva, Deputy Chief of Mission and in charge of multilateral organizations including UNESCO and the Francophonie at the embassy in France as well as Chief of Protocol and Director of State Protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Rwanda.
