KCCA FC fans injured in road crash after Yumbe trip

KAMPALA: Several supporters of KCCA FC have been injured in a road accident while returning from West Nile, where they had travelled to back their team in a Uganda Premier League fixture.
In an official statement released on Sunday, the club confirmed that the incident occurred as fans made their way home from Midigo in Yumbe District, where KCCA FC had faced Calvary FC.
The club said several supporters sustained injuries and are currently receiving medical attention, although the exact number of those affected and the severity of injuries were not immediately disclosed.
“This morning, we received the news of the road accident involving our fans traveling back from Midigo, Yumbe,” the statement read in part.
KCCA FC praised the dedication of its supporters, noting that their journey across the country to rally behind the team reflects deep loyalty.
“We recognize their passion that took them across the country to stand by us, and today, we stand firmly by you,” the club added.
The team said it is closely monitoring the situation and expressed hope for the quick recovery of all those injured.
KCCA FC is one of Uganda’s most supported football clubs, with fans often travelling long distances to attend matches across the country.
