An army statement said the rebels were killed after fierce fighting on Monday in the jungles of DR Congo.

The army said 40 abductees, mostly women and children were also rescued from the terrorists.

The joint operation between uganda people’s defence forces UPDF and the armed forces of the congleese army (FARDC)  more known as ‘

operation shujaa ‘against the terrorists allied democratic forces (ADF)  currently on going in Eastern democratic Republic of Congo yesterday rescued  40 people mostly women and children from the ADF after a fierce fighting in   Biakato, Mambasa territory , 67 km north west of Beni in ituri provinces. 

The fighting that took place yesterday also saw the joint forces recover 9 guns  including 08  sub machine guns (SMGs) and 01 PKM, 06 walk talkies, several rounds of ammunition, Magazines and other items including human drugs.

The joint forces also put out of action 27 ADF terrorists in the fight and injured several. One  soldier from the joint forces was injured in the leg. The injured soldier together with the rescued women and children were flown to UPDF Muhote hospital for medical attention.

The UPDF operation shujaa commander flew to Biakato to bring out the rescued, congratulate and morale boost the troops for the job so far well done. Gen Otto recieved an overwhelming welcome from the people of Biakato who applauded the joint forces for saving the Wannaichi.

19 of the rescued are Ugandans from different parts of Uganda including Kyazanga, Mayuge, Nyanama, Magamaga and other areas.

The hunt  for the terrorists linked to ISIS and affiliated to the Islamic state of central Africa province (ISCAP) continues as the joint forces seek to completely deal a final blow to the ADF which has been causing mayhem to the population.

Fellow Ugandans, especially the Bazzukulu.
Greetings.
The pig that had come from Congo to plant bombs and kill our peaceful People, it seems, has fled back to Congo after his criminal schemes were made impossible by your vigilance.

The bomb in Kikuba-mutwe exploded prematurely before he planted it where our pork-lovers were having their legitimately earned meal and the one in Nabweru exploded in the empty house where the criminals were keeping it because the security forces were hard on the heels of those pigs.

I have advised the security forces not to make the mistake of mounting roadblocks and such other blind and panicky measures that inconvenience huge masses of People that have nothing to do with the criminals.

Whenever villagers were removing jiggers from their feet, they would not cut off the infested toe or foot. They would patiently locate the eye of the jigger, isolate it and remove it and burn it in the fire.

On the Uganda side, the roads are good (do not be fooled by the potholes in parts of Kampala), the traffic is huge and fast and movement is 24 hours a day. Besides, the borders are porous and somebody can even walk into Uganda from Congo cross-country. We shall not tamper with this fast tempo of the human activities – cross border – of the fraternal Peoples of Uganda – Congo and East Africa in general.

We shall patiently remove the jiggers by perfecting the technical and human intelligence measures which have already proved to be very effective except in a few cases of lapses like in the cases of the 2 tourists and their driver, the Nyabugaando children, etc.
In the Kasese area, we are hunting for the Congolese Kamusu who survived when the Marines wounded and captured Njovu on Lake Edward.

However, the main effort is to wipe out the ring-leaders in Congo – in the forests and in the Trading Centres.

On account of the mistakes of the past Congo Governments and the international community (UN, SADDEC, etc.), those pigs have had the free use of big chunks of Eastern Congo for their criminal activities such as camping, training, mining gold, cutting timber, harvesting and selling for themselves the Wanainchi’s Cocoa, trading in vitenge and extorting money from the Wanainchi for the last 20 years, ever since UPDF withdrew from Bunia in 2003, under the International agreement of Lusaka.

This had misled them into thinking that they are invulnerable and safe. With the modern means we have, those pigs are now discovering that those forests are actually death traps. We, the experienced fighters, know this.

Therefore, working with the Congo Government, ADF is being wiped out at source – in Eastern Congo. Actually, groups like ADF, being reactionary (wapinga maendeleo – abendowooza enkyamu), cannot grow in strength.

Otherwise, the 20 years they were given of the free use of that area and the free resources there-in, by the Congo Government and the International Community, they should have been a much bigger force.
On the 23rd of December, 1978, I arrived with 28 trainers of FRONASA that I had trained in Mozambique at Karagwe District Headquarters. Karagwe is the District in Tanzania opposite our Isingiro District in Uganda.

Between the 24th of December, 1978, when I arrived at Nyamiyaga Primary School – 4 miles from the Kagyera River – and the 11th of April, 1979, when Amin collapsed in Kampala, FRONASA had built up a force of 9000 fighters, many of them well educated, like the late Elly Tumwiine.

Why such fast growth? It is because our ideology of patriotism, Pan-Africanism, social-economic transformation and democracy was rational (not irrational), beneficial (not damage-causing) and uniting (not fragmenting).

It was what we call progressive ideology, not reactionary (kupinga maendeleo). It was promising freedom, prosperity and unity.

What is ADF ideology? Sectarianism of so called Islamic fundamentalism, irrational (Uganda, a multi-faith Country to be governed under Sharia Law) and brutal (assassinations – eg. the assassinated Sheikhs), planting bombs that kill people indiscriminately.

Why assassinate opponents if what you are preaching is correct? What do you fear if what you are preaching is correct? Where would Uganda be if we were assassinating those who do not agree with the NRM?

It is that ideological bankruptcy and irrational ideology that does not allow them to grow. Instead, those pig leaders live, as warlords surrounded by a few kidnapped children and wives, stealing the resources of Congo and also stealing from the Wanainchi and killing Wanainchi, allowed to do so by the Congo previous Governments and incapable international actors who do not care about us, the Citizens and indigenous People of the Great Lakes.

Fortunately, the UPDF and other security forces, working with the Congo Government, has been wiping out these parasites.
Coming back to the pork eaters of Kikuba-mutwe who were saved by the Security forces that forced the exploder to do so prematurely, I congratulate the Nseneene (grasshoppers) of the Museneene month (November) and the Nswa-eaters (flying ants) of the Kashwa month (October).I am told you had good harvests.

To empower the bazzukulu with information of obujajja (heredity), I would like to challenge the Vets and the entomologists and the medicals to explain to them how some of our ancestors came to determine which insect to eat and which not to eat.

Some of the Ntungamoists would eat the grasshoppers (enseneene) and the enzigye (locusts). The nswa (flying ants) were eaten by some of the Baganda.

However, there were other insects our People would never touch such as ikuura which come in swarms like locusts and ebiharara that fly solo most of the time. What science were they using to determine what to eat and what not to eat? Vets, medicals and entomologists, please, help.

The Joint Anti-Terrorism Task Force of CMI, ISO, CT and CI have put up a serious manhunt for two notorious ADF suspects, for their alleged roles in a series of terror attacks.

Police said the suspects used IEDs explosives not only in the Central Business District of Kampala and Butambala, but also for other terror attacks, along the Kasese Bundibugyo axis, with the DRC.

“The goal of the wanted terror suspects is to murder Ugandans, and also cause panic and fear within the community,” police said.

“We have shared the photograph of Kamusi Musa, who is now the commander of the Splinter ADF cell, that was formerly led by a one Kyoto Abdulrashid alias Njovu, who was arrested during an aggressive pursuit and fire exchange, by the UPDF Marines and CMI on Lake Edward on the 1.11.2023.”

“During the fire exchange 2 ADF rebels were put out of action, and others escaped including Kamusi Musa,” police added.

Police said their Counter-terror teams are also hunting for a one Habib Sulaiman alias Kijana, who is actively involved in the various attacks using locally manufactured IEDs within the greater Kampala areas of Kabalagala, Katooke-Nansana, and the foiled bomb attacks at Mabiiito-Nateete, Bunamwaya, Pastor Kayanja’s Church and the Kabibi Churches in Butambala.

The targeted places are crowded areas that are soft targets, like entertainment places, churches, and urban centres.

“We advise the public not to approach these two wanted ADF suspects, because they are armed and dangerous. Our appeal instead, is to anyone who believes they have additional information that could assist in this investigation to contact the National Operations Command Centre on Telephone numbers 0800199699, 0707600773 or 0776999136.”

“A substantial cash reward of sh20m each, awaits, any member of the public, who avails us very credible information that can lead to the arrest of the wanted terror suspects.”

“And to further remind the public that this investigation, like all the others we have handled in the past months and years, once again shows that terrorism still exists. Our Counter terror team of officers, are making extensive and urgent inquiries, in order to locate the detail both ADF rebels, as quickly as possible, before they cause any harm to citizens.”

According to President Yoweri Museveni, the attack happened on Saturday at least 60km from Ntoroko inside DRC.

“This is to inform you that today, the 21st of October, 2023, we paid a serious visit to the ADF terrorists in Congo. Our gunships attacked a big camp of these criminals, 60km from the border, Ntoroko side,” Museveni said.

The attack was devastating because it was a clear target and the reconnaissance plane, was monitoring from the air. Congratulations to our Air-Force and the SDR that locates these criminals,” he added.

The president said the army was pursuing a group of rebels which killed four people in two separate attacks.

“Meanwhile, the group of five People that burnt the lorry, the tourist van and killed the two tourists with their driver, is being hunted in the area to the left of Bweera- Kikoroongo Road as you come from Bweera,” Museveni said.

“The UPDF should involve the Police and the Wananchi to hunt for these groups, running from Congo. They are no longer a military problem. They are; Police, popular vigilance and anti-terrorism efforts,” he said.

He thanked DRC president Felix Tshisekedi “for agreeing to work with us to uproot these criminals.”

Ugandan troops, together with their DRC counterparts, have been jointly fighting the rebel group since November 2022.

The ADF, also a branch of the Islamic State in central Africa, is blamed for causing havoc and mounting attacks in North Kivu and Ituri provinces in eastern DRC.

“We have registered a cowardly terrorist attack on two foreign tourists and a Ugandan in Queen Elizabeth National Park. The three were killed, and their safari vehicle burnt. Our joint forces responded immediately upon receiving the information and are aggressively pursuing the suspected ADF rebels,” Enanga said.

According to available information, the attack happened around Lake Nyamunanuka along Katwe road in Kasese district.   Those killed are from UK, South Africa and a Ugandan guide.

The incident happens a few days after suspected rebels ambushed a truck killing two of its occupants. The suspected rebels torched a box body truck Reg. No. UBN 624L in Katholhu village along the Kasese-Mpondwe border highway, barely a kilometer away from Rusese barracks on Friday morning.

A press statement from State House on Thursday said the air ride by the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) bombers was carried out on Wednesday.

“Our fighter- bombers paid another visit to the terrorists, quite some distance inside Congo, in the Mambasa territory area. They attacked three targets, 180km, 184km and 200km, respectively, from the border on the Ntoroko side,” Museveni said in the statement.

The president congratulated the joint forces of UPDF and the Congolese army for protecting the population against the terrorists.

They [terrorists] have been inviting us to pay attention to them by killing Ugandans and we are now responding to the invitation. The attacks are invariably precise, and we shall find out, after some time, who and how many terrorists died,” the president said.

“It is futile and very dangerous to the individuals involved, to think that they can kill Ugandans and be safe themselves,” he added.

The attack comes barely a month after the joint forces rescued 30 abductees from the terrorists.

The ADF, a branch of the Islamic State in Central Africa, is a Ugandan rebel group that is holed up in the jungles of eastern DRC. The rebel group is blamed for causing havoc in villages in eastern DRC.

The Ugandan military and their Congolese counterparts started joint operations against the rebel group in November 2021, shortly after the ADF launched bomb attacks in Kampala, the capital of Uganda.
