										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>KAMPALA — <strong>Uganda has announced that it expects a shipment of 119 million litres of fuel later this week, in a move aimed at strengthening national reserves and ensuring continued stability in petroleum supply.</strong></p>
<p>In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development together with the Uganda National Oil Company said the fuel consignment is scheduled to arrive at the Port of Mombasa Friday.</p>
<p>The government noted that the additional volumes will reinforce existing stock levels and support steady distribution of petroleum products across the country.</p>
<p>Authorities reassured the public that Uganda’s fuel supply remains “stable and secure,” emphasizing ongoing efforts to effectively manage supply chains and maintain adequate reserves to meet national demand.</p>
<p>“The shipment will further strengthen national fuel reserves and ensure continued availability across the country,” the statement said.</p>
<p>Officials also addressed concerns over fuel pricing, noting that pump prices continue to be influenced by global market dynamics, including geopolitical tensions such as conflicts involving the United States, Israel and Iran, which have impacted international oil markets.</p>
<p>Despite these external pressures, the government said it is closely monitoring pricing trends and has measures in place to keep fuel costs within “reasonable and manageable levels.”</p>
<p>Ugandans have been urged to remain calm and avoid panic buying, with authorities emphasizing that supply remains sufficient and distribution systems are functioning normally.</p>
