]]> KAMPALA: Tororo District Woman MP Sarah Opendi has finally tabled her proposed Bill, which suggests that bars should only open between 5-10pm on weekdays.

The Alcoholic Drinks Control Bill 2023, proposes a jail term of 10 years or fine of shs20m for anyone found selling alcoholic drinks before 5pm and beyond 10pm on working days.

Opendi also wants the ban of employment of people below 18 in premises where alcoholic drinks are manufactured, sold, stored or consumed.

She has proposed a fine not exceeding sh20m or imprisonment for a period not exceeding two years, or both.
