Buganda silent as Kabaka’s other wife passes on
KAMPALA: Buganda Kingdom has remained silent following the passing of Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi’s Rwanda-based wife, Venetia Sebudandi.
Sebudandi, the mother of Prince Jjunju “Kiweewa” Suuna, was pronounced dead by family members.
“The family of Mr Andrew Sebudandi wishes to inform family and friends that our beloved mother, sister and aunty, Amb. Venetia Sebudandi, passed away on November 13,” the family said in a statement. Details below.
Details of her burial are yet to be released by the family which said vigils will be held at different places in Rwanda on Friday and Saturday.
Sebudandi served in various capacities as an official of the Rwandan government, including, Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office in Geneva, Deputy Chief of Mission and in charge of multilateral organizations including UNESCO and the Francophonie at the embassy in France as well as Chief of Protocol and Director of State Protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Rwanda.
However, two days after her death, the kingdom of Buganda remained quiet on known platforms, raising questions among loyalists.
