True Care Junior School Urges govt Support
WAKISO. The Headteacher of True Care Junior School, Ssalongo James Byuma, has urged local leaders to consider contributing back to educational institutions in recognition of the significant tax payments schools make.
Byuma emphasized that despite schools’ substantial tax contributions, they often do not receive any acknowledgment or support in return. Speaking to parents and teachers during the school’s end-of-year concert held at the Ssumbwe campus in Wakiso, Byuma highlighted the financial burden schools face due to taxation without receiving tangible benefits in return.
Byuma underscored the importance of local leaders at the sub-county level acknowledging the tax burdens shouldered by schools and providing support in the form of essential items like desks or scholastic materials as a gesture of appreciation.
Despite being a new establishment that commenced operations in 2021, True Care Junior School achieved a milestone by enrolling 710 pupils at the beginning of the academic term.
Byuma proudly announced that the school had obtained full registration status with a UNEB number, attributing this success to the collaborative efforts of dedicated parents who have contributed to the school’s growth and development.
Encouraging parents to remain vigilant during the extended holiday period, Byuma emphasized the critical role caregivers play in safeguarding children and preventing potential challenges they may encounter.
Daniel Bandebya, a councilor from Wakiso district, echoed Byuma’s sentiments, urging parents to maintain a watchful eye over their children in light of the various obstacles they might face. Bandebya commended the school administration for their commitment to nurturing students and acknowledged the impressive performances showcased by pupils during the concert, which included cultural dances, theatrical plays, and musical presentations.
This event served as a platform for students to display their talents and celebrate their achievements under the guidance of the dedicated school staff.
