SH-ACU Announces Charges Against Alleged Land Fraudster in Kyenjojo

Kyenjojo, Uganda – Mugisha Vincent, a man long implicated in numerous land disputes, has been charged before the Kyenjojo Chief Magistrate’s Court with obtaining money by false pretenses and cheating.
The arrest and charges are the result of a collaborative effort between the SH-ACU (Anti-Graft Squad) and the Uganda Police Force in Kyenjojo.
Mugisha has been a prominent figure in various land-related complaints filed at the Kyenjojo Police Station, particularly concerning alleged land grabbing in Ganyinayo village, Kihuura Sub-county, Kyenjojo district.
The current charges stem from an incident between March and September 2025, where Mugisha allegedly defrauded Ms. Kababiito Sylvia of eleven million Ugandan shillings (Ugx 11,000,000).
He reportedly achieved this by falsely claiming to be selling her cattle, a claim later found to be untrue.
SH-ACU indicate that investigations are ongoing into further reports of land grabbing, trespassing, and malicious damage to property, through which Mugisha is suspected of taking over land belonging to multiple individuals.
