Brig Gen Isoke Rallies Anti-Corruption Unit Staff for Kabaka Birthday Run

16 Apr 2026

Mengo: Staff of the State House Anti-Corruption Unit have received running kits ahead of this year’s Kabaka Birthday Run, with a call to use the platform to advance the fight against HIV/AIDS and corruption.

The kits were officially handed over on Thursday by Brig Gen Henry Isoke, who will lead the Unit’s participation in the annual run scheduled for April 12, 2026. The event will be held under the theme: “Men for Good Health to Save the Girl Child against HIV/AIDS.”

Brig Gen Isoke commended the Kabaka and the people of Buganda for their continued support towards government health initiatives. He noted that collaboration with institutions such as the Uganda AIDS Commission and the Ministry of Health has contributed significantly to progress in combating HIV/AIDS.

He emphasized that the Kabaka Birthday Run remains a critical platform for mobilizing communities, particularly men, to take a more active role in safeguarding the health and wellbeing of vulnerable groups, including the girl child.

Beyond health, Brig Gen Isoke used the occasion to urge Ugandans to stand firm against corruption, stressing that accountability and integrity are essential for effective service delivery. He warned that corrupt practices undermine national efforts and disproportionately affect vulnerable populations.

The Anti-Corruption Unit also recognized the importance of partnerships in driving its mandate, appreciating collaborations with BBS Terefayina, Buganda Land Board, and the Buganda Kingdom.

The Kabaka Birthday Run, one of the largest annual health events in Uganda, continues to draw thousands of participants and has become a key vehicle for public health advocacy.

Brig Gen Isoke and the Unit concluded by extending warm birthday wishes to the Kabaka as he marks his 71st birthday.
