Bank of Uganda Robbery: Two suspects netted

KAMPALA — Police have arrested two suspects in connection with the recent break-in at the Bank of Uganda that occurred on May 4, 2026.
According to Police spokesperson Kituuma Rusoke, the suspects were apprehended by intelligence teams on May 7 following investigations into the incident.
The suspects were identified as Kule Boaz Michael, 19, a resident of Wabigalo, and Kabuye Ramadhan, also known as Rhama, a resident of Nsambya Zone C, both in Kampala City.
Police said the suspects are currently in custody and that two stolen laptops have since been recovered during the operation.
“The suspects are currently in police custody, and two stolen laptops have since been recovered. They will be arraigned before court in due course,” Kituuma said in a statement.
Investigations into the break-in are still ongoing as security agencies work to establish whether more suspects were involved in the incident.
