Nalukoola Files Appeal Against Ruling

26 May 2025

KAMPALA. Elias Luyimbazi Nalukoola, NUP MP for Kawempe North, has filed an appeal against the High Court’s decision nullifying his election.

Justice Bernard Namanya cited gross non-compliance with electoral laws, ordering Nalukoola’s removal and a fresh election.

A consortium of law firms represents Nalukoola, underscoring the case’s significance.

The appeal challenges the entire decision, with Nalukoola’s team likely arguing procedural lapses weren’t grave enough to invalidate the election.

The Court of Appeal’s ruling may redefine Kawempe North’s political fate and impact electoral accountability in Uganda.
