Anti-Corruption Efforts Intensify
KAMPALA. In a move to tackle corruption, the State House Anti Corruption Unit ( SH-ACU) headed by Brig Henry Isoke has joined forces with the Minister of State for Ethics and Integrity, Hon. Akello Lilly Rose, for a joint inspection and Community Engagement meeting in Greater Masaka District and City on November 23, 2024.
The event aimed to address reported service delivery gaps and promote transparency. Key issues discussed during the meeting included extortion of Parish Development Model beneficiaries, fraudulent sale of government land, and poor construction standards of government schools. Several arrests were made in connection with these allegations, including the Chief Finance Officer and District Education Officer.
The Inter-Agency Forum Against Corruption, comprising institutions as the ministry of Ethics, the Inspector General’s office and the Public Disposal and Procurement Unit demonstrated a united front against corruption .
District and Security leadership were present, including the RDC, the RCC, the LCV Chairperson, the Commander of the Armoured Brigade, the RPC, DPC, CAO, and the Town Clerk, among others.
