Police Investigators Key to Fighting Corruption – Brig Gen Isoke

KAMPALA. Brigadier General Henry Isoke, Head of the State House Anti-Corruption Unit (SHACU), has emphasized the crucial role police investigators play in the fight against corruption.

Addressing senior police officers from the Criminal Investigations, Professional Service, and Canine Units at the Uganda Police Training Facility in Kikandwa on Monday, Gen Isoke stressed that integrity among law enforcement officers is paramount.

Gen Isoke, now in office for three years highlighted the importance of police investigators.

“Police investigators are the foundation of public safety and justice, and any form of corruption within their ranks undermines the very essence of law enforcement,” he said.

 He urged officers to embody integrity and serve above self to improve the image of the police force.

Gen Isoke emphasized the need for detectives to be role models in the fight against corruption, saying, “If we are clean, corruption can easily be defeated.”

He called for continued collaboration between SHACU and the police, advocating for synergized teamwork among all anti-corruption agencies for the greater national good.

Gen Isoke concluded by emphasizing the significance of criminal investigators, stating, “Criminal investigators are pillars upon which the country rests.”

The training session is part of Gen Isoke’s and general government’s commitment to combating corruption and promoting integrity among public servants.
